A Joyful Cleveland Wedding Day: St. Coleman Ceremony & Overlook Venue Reception
Whenever I get the chance to photograph a wedding, I’m reminded how much I enjoy stepping into such joyful celebrations. Even though weddings aren’t the main focus of my work, they’re incredibly fun — you get welcomed into a big, happy group for the day, and by the end you feel like part of the family. This beautiful Cleveland wedding was a perfect example of that feeling.
The Ceremony at St. Coleman Church
The day began at the stunning St. Coleman Church, where the couple exchanged their vows in a dimly lit setting full of gold and stone. The Mike & his groomsmen arrived early, so we grabbed some fun shots of them preparing for the big day! Once Denise arrived in her glittering gown it was showtime & the two were exchanging vows before I knew it. I tried my best to work with the limited ambient light inside, as it is typically prohibited to use flash in Catholic churches. Challenging, I will admit, but worth it to make sure I wasn’t a distraction during their ceremony.
Portraits Around Cleveland
After the ceremony, we made our way to a classic Cleveland hot spot for portraits. The script sign at Edgewater Park gives the perfect mix of lakefront views and city energy, and was a must-have for the new Mr. & Mrs.
Then we switched gears with a fun stop at Honey Hut — a lighthearted break full of candid, playful moments to commemorate the first date the couple had once shared there.
To finish things off we headed to Big Creek Parkway for some quieter, nature-filled portraits among the trees.
Reception at The Overlook
The celebration continued at The Overlook, a chic and stylish venue that set the perfect mood for the evening. Once the sun went down, the space became very dark with minimal lighting, which meant switching to flash for the reception coverage. Honestly, this part of the night was such a blast — the low light and pops of flash created bold, energetic images that really captured the atmosphere. The dance floor was full, the music was loud, and I had so much fun photographing all the movement, laughter, and big moments as everyone celebrated together.

The energy, the people, the locations — everything came together in a way that made the day both meaningful and fun to photograph.
