My First Full Wedding Day — and One I’ll Never Forget!

This was my first time photographing both a wedding ceremony and reception — and it couldn’t have been more special. Held at the stunning Holden Arboretum in Northeast Ohio, this wedding was filled with bold color, garden party vibes, and the kind of joy that only happens when people are truly surrounded by their people.
A Dress That Sparkled, a Library First Look, and a Ceremony in the Sun
The bride wore a glittery blue dress that shimmered in the light — a perfect reflection of her vibrant spirit. We started the day with a quiet, meaningful first look in the arboretum’s rare book library, a place close to the bride’s heart.

The ceremony itself took place outdoors in the gardens under full sun on a hot afternoon. Not the easiest lighting for photos — but we made it work. One of her biggest requests was to get full group photos of each side of the family, since this was one of the rare times everyone would be in the same place. I’m happy to say: we got them PLUS some fun ones too!

A Celebration of Love in All Its Forms
This wedding was beautifully non-traditional — intentionally inclusive, colorful, and deeply meaningful. Many of the guests were members of the LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities, and it meant so much to me to be a safe, supportive presence for everyone there.

As a solo photographer for this 6-hour day, I focused on capturing the tiny moments: guests enjoying the gardens, laughter over conversations, quiet hugs, and chosen family simply existing together in celebration.

Alongside the joy between the bride and groom, I also captured the love they share with their respective partners — a beautiful reminder that love looks many ways and all of them deserve to be seen.

Photography That Honors Your Day, Your Way
I’m honored to have been trusted with documenting this one-of-a-kind day. The resulting gallery is full of bright, vivid color and emotion — a visual love letter to community, authenticity, and joy.
If you’re planning a celebration that’s a little different — and full of meaning — I’d love to be part of it. Whether you’re eloping in the woods, throwing a backyard party, or gathering your people for a garden wedding like this one, I’m here to capture it with care and creativity.
